Keeton is 6 months old already

Well, it is unreal that my baby girl is 6 months old already. It seems like only yesterday that I was pregnant. We celebrated her 6 month birthday with my Mom and Dad. They came over for dinner and Keeton got to eat her miniature cake. She LOVED it! She kept sucking on it like it was a bottle.

Then we went for her 6 month well baby check up. She weighed 16. 5 pounds ( 63%) and she was 25 inches long. (43%) She is getting so big. Her ears did look a little infected again, so had to take another antibiotic. You would never know she had ear infections though. She is such a happy baby and really showed no symptoms. She does have an umbilical hernia. Dr. Harris said that it was nothing to worry about because they typically go away before they turn one. She got four shots and she did really well.

Keeton is eating solid foods three times a day. She can roll over from back to tummy and from tummy to back. She can hold her own bottle. She loves to sit in her exer-saucer. She is the nosiest baby and she loves to watch what's going on around her. She is a very happy baby. She also got her ears pierced! We took her to the doctor and they put numbing cream on her ears. She did really good. She cried for just a minute and then she was ok. Her earrings look so pretty.

Happy New Year!!

Well, everyone is talking about 2010 being the end of a decade. Webster 's dictionary defines a decade as " a period of ten years". That got me to thinking, "What have I done this past decade?"

  • 2000 - This was the year that I vowed not to have a boyfriend and to live it up... and I did.

  • April 2001 - started dating Jonathan

  • December 2001 - We got engaged

  • August 2002 - We bought our first house in Mt. Olive.

  • December 2002 - I graduated at the University of Montevallo with a B.S. in Sociology.

  • February 15, 2003 - We got married and honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico

  • December 2004 - graduated from UAB with my Masters in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education

  • August 2005 - my first teaching job at Centerpoint Elementary

  • October 2005 - cruise to Costa Playa and Cozumel Mexico

  • December 2005 - bought our house in Kimberly

  • April 28, 2006 - Reese was born and I became a Mommy

  • August 2006 - Started teaching at Bryan Elementary

  • 2007 - 10 year High school reunion - I got to see some great old friends.

  • July 18, 2008 - lost my dear sweet Mawmaw Keeton

  • October 25, 2008- lost sweet baby Addi

  • December 2008 - cruise to Calica and Cozumel Mexico

  • July 17, 2009 - Keeton was born

I know that I probably left out a lot of things. It is wild to see what all has happened in ten years time. I know that I am truly blessed. I hope you all have a blessed 2010.

A Trampoline and a Music Box

If you have asked Reese what she wanted for Christmas then no doubt you heard her say, " A trampoline and a music box." She has been seeing trampolines for awhile now and saying, " I don't have one of those." or " I want a trampoline." So there was no doubt that she would be asking Santa for one this year. As far as the music box goes... apparently she saw one on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I asked her what goes in a music box and she said, "Music." I guess she doesn't really know that we call them jewelry boxes; oh well it doesn't matter. Santa did bring Reese a trampoline and he got an early start putting it together at our neighbor's house so that it wouldn't take all night on Christmas Eve. Well, Christmas Eve day Jonathan , Brian and his cousins head to move the trampoline into our yard. As you know their was a bit of a wind storm that night. Later on Christmas Eve while we were opening presents and having a blast our neighbor called and said that the trampoline was in his yard. So that gave me a sick feeling. I wasn't so worried about the trampoline because they don't cost that much; it made me feel sick because all that Reese has wanted is a trampoline. So Jonathan, Alan, Jason and Anthony headed home to see if it was torn up and if they could get it back into our yard. They all came back to my Pawpaw's soaking wet. The adventure was a success. They were able to get the trampoline back into our yard and put stakes into the ground so it would stay. It was a little bent, but nothing major. It was success; Reese was SO excited on Christmas morning. All of this made me think of this saying I saw on TV: " Christmas is just like any other day at the office, the parents do all of the work and the fat guy in the suit gets all of the credit." :)

Here are some pictures of our Christmas festivities. They aren't in order....

Reese collapsed in the car on our way home on Christmas day!

This was an absolutely wonderful Christmas. Reese really got excited over every little part of it: decorating the tree, singing the songs, opening the presents and most importantly she was excited about it being Jesus' birthday. We talked about it a lot and she kept asking if Jesus had his party yet? That was her way of asking was it Christmas yet. We sang Happy Birthday Jesus on Christmas Eve. It was so fun seeing all of the excitement and JOY on her face this year. I hope that all of you had a Merry Christmas and that you have a blessed new year.
